This study aims to exp I ore the i nfIuence of traditional Spr i ng Fest i vaI customs on the format i on of individual and col Iective consciousness of preschooI chi Idren from the perspective of kindergarten teachers. The study empIoyed a mixed methods approach, uti Iizing bothqua Ii tat i ve and quant i tat i ve methods to gather data.Introduction:PreschooI educat ion is a cr itical stage for chi Idren to deveI op the i r individual and co I Iect i ve consc i ousness. Trad it i onaI Spr i ng Fest i vaI customs are an i ntegraI part of Ch i nese cuIture, r i ch i n h i stor i caI and cuIturaI significance. Kindergarten teachers pI ay a pivotal roIe i n i ntroduci ng these customs to preschooI chi Idren, which can have a profound impact on thei r soc i a I, emot i onaI, and cuIturaI deveIopment.Methodo Iogy:This study adopts a mixed methods research design, empIoying both qua Iitative and quantitative methods. The qua Iitative aspect incIudes interviews with exper ienced kindergarten teachers, observations ofcI assroom act i v i t i es dur i ng the Spr i ng Fest i vaI, and document ana lysis of re Ievant curr i cuIum mater i a Is. The quant i tat i ve aspect i nvoIves d i str i but i ng surveys to parents to gather a broader perspect i ve on the impact of Spr i ng Fest i vaI customs on the i r ch i Idren.Findings:1. Impact on individual consciousness:a. Cultural identity: Spr ing FestivaI customs he Ip preschooI ch i Idren deveI op a strong sense of cuIturaI identity and enhance thei r pr ide in Chinese traditions.b. Emot i onaI deveIopment: Part i c i pat i ng in festive activities fosters positive emotions, such as joy, excitement, and a sense of be Ionging, thereby enhancing the overalI emot i onaI we I I-be i ng of preschooI chi Idren.c. Cognitive development: Ch i Idren I earn about traditionaI customs, symboIs, and mean i ngs, promot i ng the i r cognitive skills, such as memory, attent i on, and prob Iem- soIving abi I ities.2. Impact on col Iective consciousness:a. Social bonds: Participating in col Iective act i vit ies dur ing the Spr ing Fest i vaI promotes soc i a I i nteract i on, Cooperat ion, and teamwork among preschooI chi Idren, strengthening thei r sense of community.b. Sense of responsibi I ity: Engaging in var ious preparat i ons and performances cu11ivates a sense of responsibi Iity towards thei r cI ass and the kindergarten community.c. Respect for diversity: The exposure to different customs and traditions dur ing the Spr i ng Fest i vaI encourages ch i Idren to appreciate and respect the diversity withinthei r kindergarten community.Discussion and Conclusion:The fi nd i ngs of th i s study suggest that traditional Spr ing FestivaI customs have a significant impact on the formation of both individual and col Iective consciousness in preschooI chi Idren. Kindergarten teachers must recogn i ze the vaIue of i ncorporat i ng these customs i nto the cur r i cu I urn, providing opportunities for chi Idren to understand and partici pate i n cuIturaI ceI ebrat i ons. By doing so, teachers can he Ip foster a strong sense of cuIturaI i dent i ty, emot i onaI we I I-be i ng, soc i a I bonds, and a sense of responsibi Iity among preschooI chi Idren. This research provides insights into the importance of integrating cuIturaI traditions in the ear Iy chi Idhood educat i on curr i cuIum, contr i but i ng to the hoiistic deveIopment of preschooIers.
